Coral Betting Mobile
As one of the big UK high street bookmakers, Coral is already a household name. But does that mean their mobile betting site is any good? Definitely NOT!
Our Rating: (1.8 / 5)

In this Coral app review, you’ll learn about the dreadful experience that several of our team have had with them. I’ll highlight the few positives and many negative aspects of online betting with Coral, and why you deserve so much better.
They aren't famous for their wide variety in betting markets, but they do offer competitive odds and many high-end features that can make your wagering more fun. Betfred offers one of the best mobile betting apps in the UK. Coral has been around for many years and has proven itself to UK customers. They offer a wide range of football. Sports Bet on Coral Mobile App: Huge Selection, Easy to Navigate. One of Coral’s biggest strengths would be the sports betting section. Sports ranging from football, rugby, Formula 1, basketball,.
But first, in case you were thinking of signing up and downloading the app – don’t bother! I strongly recommend you choose one of these top rated alternatives instead.

Key Features
The fact that they’re a well known name is probably the main thing about Coral, but that doesn’t really count for much. Just because a brand has a presence on the UK high street, it doesn’t mean they offer a good service online. In fact, many well known brands get very lazy about their online and mobile service, because they seem to think that because you know them, they don’t need to try as hard as everyone else. That’s certainly the case with Coral. But how wrong can they be?
There are so many other online bookmakers doing such a better job, why would anyone download the Coral app in 2021 when there are plenty of much better options?
There was a time a few years ago when Coral were OK. The app was always rubbish, but betting on their desktop site was a much less painful experience than it is today. Then they merged with Ladbrokes, and everything went downhill. Given Ladbrokes track record, it’s unlikely to get better anytime soon.
I do want to find some positive things to say about Coral though. They do offer a very limited live streaming service, but it’s not free and there are many better ones available. For example, you can’t watch a horse race unless you’ve bet on it. The quality is also very slow compared to other sites such as bet365.
Likewise they do have cash out on some betting markets, but this is so bad on the Coral app, it’s almost unusable. Many other bookies do a superior job of this.
The main negatives are the odds, which are usually very poor compared to other online and mobile bookies. Customer service is poor, and the withdrawal process is slow, cumbersome and problematic.
Coral Free Bet
Coral do offer a welcome bonus for new customers. Don’t let that tempt you though. It’s a fairly standard offer, not particularly generous. But good luck withdrawing any money you might make with it! And if you can’t get your winnings out, there isn’t much point in trying to get the free bet in the first place.
Coral App Design / Usability
So Coral do offer an Android app and an iPhone app, both of which are free to download. When it comes to actually trying to use them though, the fun stops. So stop!
If you thought the Coral website was badly designed, the app takes things down to a whole new level of amateurishness. It honestly looks like something a small child has knocked together. The website isn’t responsive at all, so if you try to view it on your mobile phone you’ll soon be scrolling right to try and find half of the screen that’s missing.
The app is basic, but still clunky and slow. We tested it on brand new, state of the art handsets bought in 2021. It ran like a lame tortoise. We decided to end the test there, because trying it on some of our older handsets, which we’d normally do it our reviews, seemed pointless.
Choice of Markets
As a large company, Coral are able to offer a reasonable choice of betting markets. Most of these are also available on the Coral app (although due to the performance issues I mentioned, actually finding them is a challenge).
They cover UK & Irish horse racing, football, cricket, tennis, golf, greyhound racing etc. In short, everything you’d expect.
The odds are not particularly competitive though. Not just compared to Betfair, but also compared to the majority of other mobile betting sites. I suspect the Ladbrokes influence may be behind this, as they have always been known for really stingy odds. So if you’re looking for value, you won’t find it at Coral I’m afraid.
Banking – Deposit/Withdrawal Options
Debit Card, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill and PaySafe Card are all supported deposit methods via the Coral app.
I had no problems depositing money into my account, they were happy to accept payments no questions asked. Withdrawing was a different matter.
I’m always happy to provide ID & verification of address in line with money laundering legislation. But when I’ve done that and provided what has been asked for, I expect to get my withdrawal processed without any further delay.
What I don’t expect is to have to keep chasing time and time again to get the bookmaker to release my money. Sadly this was the case with Coral. Their withdrawals process was an absolute joke, one of the worst experiences I’ve had at any online betting site.
And remember, I’ve been reviewing betting apps for a while and tried pretty much all of them.
Customer Service/Support
That brings me on to the Coral customer support. Normally when doing a betting app review, I contact the support on live chat and ask a few newbie questions to see if they’re patient, friendly and helpful towards new customers.
In this case, unfortunately for me, I had the need to contact their support for real, to try to get my withdrawal processed.
What I experienced was a shambles. I was fobbed off, ignored and lied to. Pretty much every promise that was made to me was broken. I had to ask for the same thing over 5 times before finally getting a response.
So it’s not going to surprise you to learn that I don’t rate the customer service here very highly!
Safety and Security
Coral hold a license from the UK Gambling Commission which covers players in the United Kingdom. They alos have a license in Gibraltar for players from the EU.
Their SSL Certificate is valid and their website seems reasonably secure, so I don’t have any particular concerns in this area.
Coral Online Betting Log In
This doesn’t mean I would want to bet with them again though! In fact, after completing this Coral App review, I have now closed my Coral account and it’s safe to say I won’t be opening another!
They fully deserve their poor rating, so if you were on the fence about whether to bet here or not, I hope this review has helped you make up your mind.
You can do better! Check out some of our other sports betting app reviews and choose someone who deserves your business.

- Great Choice for Horse Racing
- Live Streaming for UK & Irish Horse Racing
One thing that we really like about Coral Bookmakers is the sheer number of sports and markets they offer. The main sports they focus on are football and horse racing. The football section is extremely in-depth and offers leagues and events from around the world. There’s very much a strong bias for the English leagues, and in particular the Barclays Premier League. However, the top level European leagues – La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 – are also very well catered for.
The horse racing section is equally as in-depth and includes all the major meetings from the UK and Ireland, to accompany a smattering of races from international destinations such as France, South Africa and the US. What we love about the horse racing section is the integration with the live streaming channel where you can watch the race you have bet on for free from your smartphone or tablet.
While the other sports don’t get the coverage of football and horse racing, you can still bet on over 30 other sports – which include a host of niche markets such as volleyball, hurling, F1, tennis, golf, Gaelic football, cycling and even Aussie rules, to name but a few.
Like all betting sites, Coral Bookmakers has a series of maximum betting limits and payouts – different for every sport. For their horse racing and football markets their maximum pay-out is £1 million, so the max bet would be dependent on the odds. Let’s say for example you wanted to bet the maximum on a market at odds of 10/1, then your max bet would be £100,000 due to the restrictions on pay-out terms.
Coral Betting Apps
The Coral betting apps are available for Apple iPhone, iPad, Android, and selected Nokia & Blackberry devices. For customers with a different type of device, Coral offers a mobile version of their betting site. The apps are simple to download on all platforms; just click any of the images above to get your app.
If you’re reading this from a computer, you can go directly to Coral.co.uk. Once you’ve registered your new account, you can login to Coral from your mobile device and get the appropriate betting app.
How Good are the iPhone, iPad & Android Betting Apps?
The first thing you notice about the Coral betting app is simply how good it looks. We’ve tested their apps on a number of devices and platforms, and they always look great. The app really feels like a condensed version of their website, but it’s designed in a way that makes it easy to use. Where screen real estate is at a premium, they’ve done a great job of keeping it simple & clean. While it looks like a pretty flash betting app – in comparison to many – the app loads and runs ultra-smoothly. This makes it a great betting app to use on a regular basis.
The inclusion of live streaming really sets the Coral betting apps apart from the majority of their competitors. Granted, this feature is becoming more common within the leading betting apps, but it’s still something that is more on the exclusive side. Once more, the streaming video runs seamlessly well with 3G connectivity, meaning Wi-Fi isn’t essential. Although horse racing is the only sport currently on offer for live streaming video, we’ve been told that Coral is planning to expand this section to keep in line with their betting site; meaning the inclusion of football, snooker, rugby and cricket will likely be available soon.
Coral.co.uk Deposit & Withdrawal Options
You can both, deposit and withdraw funds direct from the Coral betting app. Unfortunately, via the app you can only use your registered Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro or MasterCard. Other banking options such as Click and Buy, Instant Banking, UKash, Neteller, Moneybookers, PayPal, Click to Pay and PaySafe are all available via the betting site, but there are no options on the app itself.
Coral Sports Betting
For those who want to deal solely with the betting app, adding a credit or debit card is a simple process. We recommend doing this from a computer first, as it’s easier to input credit card info, and possibly Verified by Visa passwords (if you use it) from a full size keyboard.
Withdrawals are usually handled through the same processor as customers use for their deposits, but some deposit options don’t accept withdrawals. In those cases, customers need to select a different withdrawal option. This is standard for any online or mobile bookmaker.
Coral Bookmakers Live Betting (In-Play Betting)
If you aren’t familiar with live betting (also called in-play betting), these are wagers offered while a match is happening. They are essentially prop bets that can be made on a wide number of events that may or may not happen during play. For example, in a football match, you could bet on which player or team will be the next to score a goal. In most football, cricket and rugby matches, dozens, or even hundreds of in-play bets could be made.
In-play betting is extremely popular for mobile punters, and it makes sense. Standing in line? Sitting at the pub? Whatever you’re doing, you live betting makes it more fun.
The Coral betting app (and website) is very much focused around its live betting markets, which is a common these days. The live betting section often depends on the time of day you are betting as to how many sports and markets are on offer. As it stands, Coral Bookmakers turn many of their markets live once those matches start, such is the popularity of this betting format.
Sports will vary quite a lot, but you can expect to see the majority of football games, horse races (although these are limited to the longer races), tennis, golf, cricket, rugby, darts and snooker. This isn’t to say that the markets will exclusively include these sports; just the majority will be based around them.
Bonus & Betting Promotions
New customers to the Coral Bookmaker can get a free bet of up to £50 when opening an account. The free bet applies to your first wager of $50 or less, and will be triggered once that bet has been settled. The free bet can be used on any market once your account has been funded, but must be used within 7 days of the bet becoming active.
A great feature that the Coral app includes is the promotions button found in the top right corner. These promotions are all relevant to your account and are representative of previous betting activity, offers gained, and potential upcoming specials on markets you have bet on. It’s a really nifty feature from Coral which just adds to the personal touch of the app. These can change on a daily basis, so it’s definitely worth keeping a check on them.

For UK based customers, we love the integration with the Coral mobile casino. Having an ‘all-in-one’ type of betting/casino site simplifies things, and makes it easy to get new apps as they expand their mobile casino offerings. You can quickly flick from sports to casino with just a couple of clicks, and the integration of just one wallet for all types of gambling means you can jump straight into the action.
Through Coral casino apps, we can play European roulette, single & multi-hand blackjack, jacks or better video poker, 14 mobile slots, and scratch cards. All of these casino games can be played for free, or with real money. While Coral does have online versions of poker and bingo, they currently aren’t supported on the betting app.
The Coral Casino is currently offering a £50 welcome bonus to new players.
